The title journalist you’d know, but what exactly is a Professional Writer you ask?
My Master’s degree in this field has given me a thorough skillset across numerous forms of writing, including (but certainly not limited to) feature articles, copywriting and editing, social media engagement and crafting other purpose-fit content for a range of publication styles.

My passion is for travel & lifestyle writing, industry news reporting as well as developing marketing strategies that bring consumers and brands together in meaningful and mutually beneficial ways. Curious about what that looks like?

My Experience

  • Media Intern at the Department of Communities Child Protection, delivering internal newsletters and developing a foster care recruitment campaign from the ground up.

  • Marketing Graduate for Tetra Tech Coffey, producing internal documents for client delivery and external stakeholder and social media engagement.

  • Journalist at Seven West Media, reporting on the Western Australian property market and crafting travel & lifestyle feature articles.

My Credentials

  • Bachelor of Arts (Linguistics & Korean Studies) from Korea University & The University of Western Australia

  • Graduate Diploma in Advanced Japanese, building on a fluency developed attending middle school in Tokyo

  • Master of Professional Writing & Publishing from Curtin University, completing a Master’s Thesis analysing environmental rhetoric of non-government organizations in the Australian market

Why I do what I do,
and why I’m good at it

I’ve been lucky to live in more places than most — born in Africa, raised in Japan and Australia by a mixed German family within a Chinese community and educated in South Korea.

Understanding what makes people unique, from their culture to their language and the locations they live, is what drives my passion for sharing stories in an engaging manner to enrich those who haven’t benefitted from those experiences yet.
